We get along in person, but my in laws are back stabbing bitches even my husband hates his parents. They're truly awful and abusive.

my husbands brother is 15 years older so hes the closest i have to a FIL. and hes a dick. super asshole. but when we lived in separate states, we only saw him every 6 months, so i bite my tougue and try to be respectful and ignore how rude he is. we usually stay with my family for 2 week visits and see his brother and SIL 3-4 times. I encourage him to be close with his family, i want him to have that, but i only go with him 1-2 times each trip because its very obvious how much he doesnt like me

As much as I do my own parents lol. I've known them for 14 years (since I was 13) so they're basically family anyways. We have our ups and downs and our fights but they know damn well I'd drop anything if they need me.
