Question

I has sex on the 3 of march I take my bc everyday at the same time. However I got put in antibiotics and pain killers such as rophamin, kenelog, methacarbomal, and idoprophen 800 for muscle pain and a uti. I am scared this reduced the effect of my pill. I have felt so nauseous since Monday . I had my last period last month on the 24-28 . Could I be pregnet if so when can I test.

Woah. Okay. Uhm. First off if you can’t spell pregnant right, how are you sexually actively xD also. Antibiotics make birth control less effective... BUT it sounds like you already knew that since you felt the need to add it, so you should have taken appropriate measures (condoms) while on it. Test when your period is 3 days late 🤷🏻‍♀️

Test when your next period due. Call your pharmacy and ask if those medications interact with birth control. A good rule of thumb is to use other methods of protection during/ a few weeks after the use of antibiotics. If your next period isn’t due yet, you won’t test positive. Call in a get reassurance from a pharmacist. Remember next time you take antibiotics to ask about the bioavailability (length of time medication shows in bloodstream) so you know how long to use other forms of birth control. Good luck!
