Water birth? Better for pain etc?

I am in the uk and thinking of having a water birth for my third child. My 2 other births I had with just gas and air in a hospital bed. Has anyone had both and could go through pros and cons?

I wanted a water birth so bad with my first but it didn't work out that way. I ended up delivering in the hospital but I labored for 10 hours at home and stayed in the shower for almost all of it. it helped soooo much with the contractions. I went to the hospital and delivered 5 hours later. I hated laboring there cause I had a fetal monitor on me and couldn't get in the shower or anything.

I found my water birth was amazing and would definitely recommend but did prolong the labour in my experience definitely going to try for another this time round though.

i haven't done gas and air but I loved my water birth the first time so much that I'm planning another in July if body and baby allows

Only way to go in my book.. I waited till I was in a lot of pain to get in and I got out after a few hours and the pain was so much worse.. got back in just in time to push.. planning to have this one in water also!
