Learning to walk on concrete floors?

My daughter is 8 months old (9 months in a few weeks), and this week she has started standing on her own with no support (not walking, just standing briefly by herself). Well, we are moving tomorrow to a home with no carpet. It’s all custom concrete. We will be getting rugs and foam mats for her, but I’m concerned if the concrete floors are going to hinder her from continuing to stand on her own or make her a late walker. The concrete isn’t the slippery type like usual.  I’m assuming baby feet grip better on carpet.  Any tips?

my daughter learned to walk on concrete floors. It never bothered her. tye only thing that worried me was if she fell and bumped her head. So I just paid extra attention to her when she was standing/ walking

You have until 18-19 months before you even get to the later end of walking and that’s still well within normal. Even if takes your baby some adjustment for the new floors you have so much time it really won’t affect it. Also, some babies will stand and then stop standing, other cognitive developments and teething and make them lose interest. This happened to us a lot between 8 months and 14 months. At 11 months my son stood on his own and turned in a whole circle and then didn’t stand again for 2 months. And then some do pretty straightforward, stand a bit walk a bit and walk all within a closer timeframe, there’s no normal or abnormal. They’re all unique.

I don’t think it’ll effect her learning! It’s not much different from wood or tile floors as far as grip goes. Just keep encouraging her and holding her hands to walk, sounds like she’ll be there before long!

We had carpet when our daughter was taking a few steps...like 2 at a time. We pulled the carpet up and put wood floors down...the moment we did she was off and walking. It was crazy. I think rugs and mats will be fine if they are needed. Your baby will adjust to learning on the floors of the new house.
