Does it give you mood swings??

It can. Mine makes me really emotional, and it has made my depression a lot worse, but I get around it because I have to take birth control for period cramps. 
It all depends on how your body reacts to it. My old birth control didn't effect me at all, but they discontinued it and this new stuff is the worst. 
I'd talk to my doctor and ask what birth control has the least amount of side effects.

It’s really a 50/50 chance that your bc won’t be the best in terms of side effects. Everyone is different. I personally use sprictec and many people have really bad results with it but I have none. It’s a hit or miss
