is it wrong if you don't want your dad or anyone to walk you down the aisle?

I kind of want to "own it" and walk down the aisle alone, as a show stopper looking breathtaking.

Considering it was designed as a ceremony of passing property from one person to another, no I don't think it's wrong. BUT I also think weddings in general are unnecessary so I'd take it with a grain of salt.

I've always said that I want to walk down the aisle with my partner, because I thinks it's only right that we start our marriage equal and together. I don't like the idea of him waiting at the front for me to turn up, I want him with me all the way

It's not wrong, you should to what what is most meaningful to you and your partner. If you decide not to have your father walk you down the aisle, talk to your dad about it ahead of time. Make sure to find another way for your dad (and any other relevant parental figures) to have an important role in your big day. It may be important to them to symbolize your transition from their little girl to a wife.

Shit I say do it! You also just gave me a new idea for my wedding!!! I’ve been struggling with planning my day because I haven’t really spoken to my “dad” in years besides the obligatory holiday text saying happy birthday, merry Christmas, etc. He’s also only seen my son once (the day after he was born and he’s now 9 months old). I had an amazing step dad though who’s been in my life since I was a year old and as done everything for me and even for my son. But because I’m too caring of a person I am so conflicted on what to do for when I walk down the aisle and for that “daddy daughter dance”. I know it should be my step dad but I feel like I have to have my “dad” do it because it will cause problems if I don’t. And I know it’s my day and all and it’s my choice but I’m struggling with pleasing them all. But now....well shit maybe I should just do my thang and walk down that aisle by myself!
