Has anyone had to have surgery (unrelated to pregnancy) while pregnant? If so, how was your recovery?

I woke up with terrible pain in my stomach a couple of nights ago. I went to the hospital expecting the worst for my babies (I’m 11 weeks with twins), but they were fine and it turned out to be something I’d never even heard of - ovarian torsion (twisted ovary). The doctor said it would be risky surgery due to my pregnancy, but they only had a few hours in which to operate in order to save the ovary.

So I had the surgery and it went ok and babies are fine, but this was my first ever surgery and I can’t believe how bad I’m feeling. I feel like recovery is going to be a slow and painful process 🤕 I just hope it’s not going to affect my babies.
