How do you get prescribed Clomid?

How do you get prescribed Clomid from your Dr? Do they have to run test then prescribe it or just prescribe it?

To be prescribed chlomid I had a lot of tests ran and went for blood tests on the regular. It was determined I ovulated really late and could never catch it on a test. My doctor knew my husband and I were trying ttc so I got on chlomid and was able to track my ovulation and we got pregnant on the first round. If your concerned you aren’t ovulating talk to your doctor.

with my experience, we did blood tests each month to check progesterone after "ovulating"...I never ovulated. I also had an HSG to ensure tubes were not blocked and my husband had his sperm checked. Because of the increased risks with clomid (more cysts), they wanted to make sure everything else was good before prescribing. 
The most important thing my Dr did was continue the blood tests each cycle to see if that particular dose of clomid worked. They started off with 50mg and increased each month. I was on 150 to get pregnant with my son. I'm now pregnant with my daughter, she was conceived with 100.

Your doc probably will not give you Clomid if you don’t have any sort of ovulation issues or medical condition causing you not to ovulate. Mine offered me Clomid because of my long cycles but I got pregnant on my own a couple months later without it.
They’ll most likely run blood test to see if you’re ovulating correctly. My doc was looking at progesterone levels after I got a positive opk because they’re able to tell whether or not you ovulated based on that.

Clomid is for those with ovulation disorders. If you have trouble conceiving and cannot ovulate, they run some tests and deceive if you are a good fit for it. Most often you’ve been trying a year without luck of conceiving.
