Prozac for a child under two???

My son has been seeing a neurologist for the past three months: he has a slight tremor which they call benign and some slight delays in his milestones. At the last visit she said his EEG was normal and she suggested Prozac. I humored her and told her we would think about it but I am now livid! Why in the world would I give my 20 Month child an antidepressant??? So frustrated

Prozac CAUSES tremor as a side effect rather often. I wouldn’t give it to STOP the tremor. Change the neurologist.

Did the neurologist explain why they would put your child on it and what it would do to help him? Did they give you any information at all and did they give you all the facts. If not get a second opinion if your not comfortable i don't think they would suggest it just for the hell of it there must be some science behind it but it does seem a bit extreme

Prozac for the benign tremors?! That doesn’t even seem related, no less medically necessary, or even safe for a 2 year old. I know you already said that you won’t go through with it, but if anyone asks you to reconsider, definitely get a second opinion.
