I had to wear one as a child.. I would take off and talk to any and everyone lol  I don't think they're a bad idea.

I always thought I would never use them until I had my son who ran everywhere since the time he started walking so one day I decided to get one. i put it on him in a large department store. he literally laid in the floor of the store and would not move when I started walking holding the string. so I had to take it off of him because he wouldn't move!!! he is now 7 and still runs all over the place and is still my head strong little man lol

They’re different now than when I was a kid but I distinctly remember having the wrist kind when I was little. For some weird reason people look down on them but I think it’s a good compromise when you have a small child who wants to walk on their own but is also prone to bolting suddenly. 
The only time I don’t like them is when people still don’t pay attention to their kids when they’re harnessed so then they become a hazard around other people, tripping and clotheslining strangers lol

To be honest, I was very judgmental about them growing up. Until I had children that like to run off as if it’s their job. Fully support them.

We have one for our daughter. She's little miss independence and refuses to ride in her stroller or a basket at the store. There have beens times she's pulled her hand away and took off running. I'd rather give her a little independence and still have some control than her get hurt the one time she runs.

Ive never used one. My son was a runner but he eventually walked, you just got to teach them. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I had to fly by myself with my 16 month old and carry all our luggage - I used one and it definitely saved me!
