Before you judge, My boyfriend and I are both auto mechanics!

When he told me he wanted to put a ring on it I looked for alternatives to the traditional engagement ring since a diamond ring would sit in a box and never be worn because it’s safety hazzard at my job...... many men have lost their fingers to their wedding band!

Today we went to sport check and purchased qalo silicon rings! I’m so excited to be engaged but I feel like I’m going to have lots of negativity over my ring. In the world of Pinterest and an expectation of a big rock I just don’t feel it’s necessary! Not to mention my ex fiancée (and father of my now 6 year old daughter) left me just before our wedding in 2015 for another woman. I had the 5k ring then and had to sell it to help pay off the debts for a wedding that never happened.

Has anyone else opted for the alternative ring? I’m holding off the announcement since I’m afraid I will have to justify my silicon ring

So I took a job off the bench since we started TTC. That way I can be employed when I get pregnant instead of having to take sickness leave from wrenching.... anywho I started my job on Monday he surprised me with this beautiful morganite and rose gold ring.... again excuse my terrible nails 🤣 I am so in love 😍
