12Dpo BFN

I am almost embarrased to post this, because it is our first month trying. Ive been with my hubby for almost five years, he has two previous boys and i have one. We have always (semi) agreed that we were done with kids. We just recently decided trying, like i said, this is our first go about. I never tracked ovulation before so i (somewhat) went by the app this time Around. Basically it says i am 12dpo and supposed to get AF in 2 days. I took a test today and got a BFN. I know i should wait till i get AF or not and go from there, just curious if anyone has been in this situation before and had their BFP?? I swear its so much easier when NOT trying then it is when you actually do try! Any tips/suggestions for a newbie would be greatly appreciated!
