I’m doing some research for a school project on Sex Education. Did you have a sex Ed class in high school? Did your school even have a sex Ed class? Was abstinence taught? This would help me out so much! If you would be willing to help me out.. I’ll be posting a separate post later on ☺️☺️

So I recently did a whole big project about this and a lot of the freshmen and a lot of the upperclassmen didn’t know how STDs were contracted and some didn’t even know what’s STIs were. We don’t have a sex Ed class but we need one a good one that teaches how to be careful and how to not get pregnant

my school was a private christrian school but our sex ed covered birth control, safe sex, and even touched on different types of intimacy. It makes me nervous when I hear how bad public school sex ed can get!

We were told only way to 100% be sure to not get pregnant or std was no sex other than that they told us to wait for the right person and in tell your ready

Sex ed in elementary, middle, and high school seemed to be a way to discourage teens to have premarital sex. If that's your personal belief then that your personal beliefs which shouldn't be forced upon anyone. Sex is a natural urge especially during puberty: our bodies are designed this way, our DNA tells us to "mate" and ensure the survial of our genetics and species. The science of human nature in regards to sex is not discussed due to the fact that society is still uncomfortable with the acceptance of having premarital sex: it's considered a taboo subject. Proper sex education isn't discussed to the full extent that it should because it's a touchy subject, and parents don't condone teenagers having sex for fear of teenage pregnancies which they believe will ruin their teens future. I don't condone teenage pregnancies, but life happens. You make the best decisions for yourself and your future, no one else can make those decisions for you. Birthcontrol should be top priority to avoid accidental pregnancies. The various types of birthcontrols should be a huge discussion during sex education. The better educated you are, the better decisions you can make. Resources for teens to receive counselling advice on birthcontrol should be available at all times to all students. Sex isn't something to be ashamed of, and everyone has sex at different ages. This should also be taught in sex ed along with relationship advice, especially regarding abusive relationships and how to get help. Overall, birthcontrol methods should be readily available to all teens without parental consent, and sex ed should give teens the resources needed to obtain the birthcontrol advice they need as well as receiving free and various options of birthcontrol. This would also make a huge impact on the rising number of teenage pregnancies!!! Times are changing, and the human population is continuing to climb at an alarming rate. Sex education needs to change to help reduce our population number from getting out of control while also ensuring that young adults can have safe sex without being ashamed or getting pregnant due to fear of getting the birthcontrol they need to avoid unwanted pregnancies. Parents should allow their children to be exposed to the consequences of having sex, both negative and positive. Parents shouldn't make their children feel bad due to their natural urges: sex is normal, but being educated , prepared, and safe should be top priorities for sex ed. Times are changing, and not discussing the importance of birthcontrol or offering free birthcontrol does more harm than good in the end. If the goal of parents is to discourage teen pregnancies then they need to understand and encourage sex education for their children as way to keep their children safe while avoiding accidental pregnancies. Sex education should focus on safe sex practices and overall education in regards to all aspects of sex. Parents should not refuse their children the right to sex education which will keep them safe and help them make educated decisions in regards to their sex lives. Parents want the best for their children, so why would they rather sweep the subject of sex under the rug and hope it goes away without any unwanted consequences? We all need to push past our comfort zones at times to help guide our children and teach them how to become adults. Sex education plays a huge role on the journey to adulthood and should be treated as a vital part of the transition from adolescents to adulthood. If parents truly want the best for their children, then withholding vital information which WILL impact their future should become a thing of the past. Parenting isn't always easy or fun, but doing right by our children and giving them the tools they need to make good decisions helps to ensure a better future for them which all parents strive for for all of their children. I mean who doesn't want the best for their children? Overall sex ed needs to be reformed, not only because it's ridiculous to consider the act of sex as a taboo subject, but because there truly is no valid reason to withhold any information from our children that pertains to making educated decisions during the transition from adolescents to adulthood. Keep our children educated and their futures will reflect their action. Good decisions are a result from the information provided during some of the most vital years of their lives, so why refuse the teachings of safe sex practices?

I had sex Ed through middle and high school it was very comprehensive and a really good program, abstinence was brought up but not stressed

1. Yes we had sex Ed, but only in freshman year. We had it all three years of middle school and in 5th grade as well. 
2. Abstinence was not taught. They pretty much just emphasized having safe sex.

Ours was quite fun. Bananas and condoms. Trying to pronounce the names of STDs right. Seeing the kids who usually made fun of others for once beeing embarassed themself. And watching the time lapse of a few cells turning into an alien looking thing turning into a little human with eyelashes and fingernails and everything.   
One day we tried out how much liquid pads and tampons can hold. With red dyed water, not that blue crap they use in commercials. I still wonder what the janitor was thinking when he emtied the trash that day...

Was homeschooled and got zero sex ed other than being told not to talk about it or have sex until married.
