Mastitis?

So I have been trying to wean my boob obsessed 21 month old. He injured my left nipple and for the last few days it has been excruciating to feed from the breast. He is going about 11 hours on this boob and this morning I woke up with a only full pain blockage. I just came down with a high fever and my mother is suggesting mastitis. It DOES NOT hurt to pump thankfully, so I’m hoping it’s just the injury and maybe a flu.
For whoever has had mastitis, did it hurt to pump or just nurse?

It hurt so bad and my milk smelled bad and was a bad color. A warm shower or compress should help

See a doctor. If it’s infected you may need antibiotics. Take some ibuprofen. Some people prefer ice. Other heats! There are ice packs for nursing mothers available with the nipple cut out! Genius I know! It really helped me. Pumping can work as long as there isn’t pain. Also cold cabbage leaves in your bra in between feedings.

I had mastitis after I had given birth to my daughter and it was the most miserable thing in life def flu like symptoms. Go get antibiotics from your doc and they might have you pump n dump after... and if you choose to all together stop breastfeeding then an all natural way to dry up your milk that I was taught and totally worked was to buy a head of cabbage and cut off the "cups of cabbage" and place them over your breasts under your bra until they wilt and repeatedly do so until milk is totally gone. It totally works I swear by it 🙌🏼
