I feel like it's easier if I rest one foot on the bathtub. Insert the tampon into your vagina as far and you can go without losing it. If you meet resistance try slightly moving it forward or back and then push the applicator. The cotton portion will come out and go higher in your vagina. then pull out the plastic portion.

I simply do it standing up and make sure everything is relaxed. You'll get the hang of it. I was once strictly pads but you'll find your perfect way.
