Moms, what worked for you??

Question

Hello to all of you beautiful Mothers!  My husband and I just found out that we are pregnant with baby #1! I have been looking up creams/oils that reduce strech marks during pregnancy. And while I'm looking at these products, I don't see any or many reviews! What did you use during your pregnancy? What worked, what didn't? What would you recommend or not recommend using?

short answer - Bio Oil.   next, more harsh advice I got from my mother: pregnancy is not a license to eat whatever you want!  Keep your weight in check, a pregnant woman only needs 150-200 calories a day (please lookup that number, don't quote me).

From what I've read, stretch marks are mostly just genetic.   Only things you can do: Drink lots of water & lotion up!  I used Earth Mama & liked it, but I can't confirm it's any better than others.

just keep your skin hydrated with a good lotion beyond that there is not a whole lot you can do

I used coconut oil, slather it! And don't don't don't wear anything tight in your belly. it irritates it and wipes all moisture from it. and don't itch your belly! If it needs to be itched rub oil on it or lightly tap it. I've had two babies and don't have any stretch marks on my belly besides right about my pelvic area,  where I stupidly use to scratch at consistently lol

I really like Burt’s bees belly cream, it’s smooth going on, doesn’t have a strong scent and doesn’t leave my tummy sticky :)

I used Earth Mama belly lotion and belly oil. I didn’t get any stretch marks, but I think I just got lucky. Earth Mama was the only brand that didn’t make me nauseous, plus they have the most natural ingredients so I felt very safe using them. I also bought myself a giant water tumbler and made sure I drank at least two full tumblers of water every day. (Hint: adding lemon slices helps). As a side note, Earth Mama also makes THE best diaper rash cream (called Angel Baby bottom balm), and nipple cream! Their baby shampoo/wash is also amazing 😉

Nothing worked for me because it’s genetic 😒 I was using palmers coconut something, sorry I forgot ☹️
