When to transition into crib

Question

My baby loves sleeping in her crib when I’m folding laundry or doing things in her nursery. 
She’s two months old and isn’t sleeping great anymore on her bassinet of rock n play. My friends pediatrician told her to start putting her baby to sleep in the crib. When I asked mine he said to wait at least 6 months but the SIDS safety standard is a year. That is if the crib is in another room which it is 
When did you transition your baby into their own room? Why would my pediatrician be so far off from my friends pediatricians recommendation.

Mine started sleeping in her own crib around a couple of weeks old. I can still see and hear her from my room and I have a video monitor on her all night. Now st 2 she’s a phenomenal sleeper. My pediatrician never mentioned when we should transition her, but I’d imagine as long as you’re monitoring baby and can hear baby (and don’t have anything unnecessary in the crib like bumper or blankets) baby should be fine.

that's actually how I knew to start letting my son sleep at night in his crib because he was taking naps in there. he was 10 or 11 months I think when we transitioned him 😊

Your doctor probably said that bc of the crib being in another room & she's right. They usually recommend crib being in your room until at least 6 months old to help reduce SIDS. However,  it doesn't mean you can't put her in her own room now. If she seems to sleep better in it during the day - try it at night and see how things go.

It’s recommended to move them sometime between 6 and 12 months. Our daughter slept in a pack n play in our room and once she hit 6 months, we moved her to her crib in her bedroom. I wanted to wait a little longer but she was starting to get restless at night and it was keeping everyone up. Not to mention she also hit a slight sleep regression during that time as well. So we moved her to her room and moved her bedtime from 8pm to 6:30pm. For us, it was time.

at 6 months there is a big decrease in risk of sids and then at 1 there is the last big decrease. 
i transitioned at 3 months because my baby become super alert and if he saw me he wouldn't go back to sleep. at this age he also made a lot more noises and moved aroubd a lot and it kept waking me up and then me waking up woke him up so for us and our sanity we had to do it earlier

I transitioned her at about 3 months when she had started sleeping the whole night in her bassinet. My pediatrician never said anything about waiting to put her in the crib to decrease SIDS, only to put her on her back to sleep and without any other objects in the crib...
