anyone used or going to use cloth diapers? pros and cons ?

trying to debate with my self if trying cloth diapers would be a great option to try... just looking for anyone who wants to give tips of the good bad and the ugly of using these would be great ❤ TIA

we use cloth diapers and absolutely love it. they are not unsanitary. they save a lot of money, are super cute and cozy for baby! plus enviromentally friendly :)

Doing infant disposables because they grow quickly and it’s not cost effective. Also getting used to lots of new stuff and don’t want to over load myself the first few weeks. YouTube has been great and Pinterest has wonderful articles. I’m going to start w prefolds and fitted cloth w covers to start. The all in ones or hybrids look awesome but have read over and over they are a pain to clean and dry well. Also the cost. I love that you can stock up on a few nice covers and change the inside set up w prefolds and fitteds. Also throwing out a $10 fitted vs a $30 hybrid sounds like the way to go while I’m learning to clean this stuff. Thirsties, Alva baby and Flip. I think cottonbabies is the site I used for a bunch. Amazon has some cheapie adorable covers and cheap fitted cloth too. A wet bag and can and you’re all set! We did an order of Honest co bundle NB diapers and wipes for $60 to start to hold us over. I don’t wan the chemicals on my new baby’s skin.

we registered for some, we are going to do disposable for newborn since they tend to grow from them quickly , and have registered for pockets and covers with prefolds. we aren't going to go to crazy with buying in case we fail at it, but looks like it can be super cost effective, and cause less rashes. there are so many options for cloth diapers that fit almost everyone's needs. You can also cloth diaper most of the time and if the daycare doesn't accept cloth just have disposable for part of the time. I've read a lot of people using disposable for daycare or overnight trips for convenience. I have also read some daycares will accept cloths that are all in ones which is basically a disposable that gets washed.

make sure you wash a load of diapers with fabric softener free soap. tide works amazing. breastfed baby diapers can go strait in the wash. theres all in one diapers, pocket diapers, covers. lots of options! in my opinion the only con is they can get stinky with amonia build up so they need stripped once in a while and kept in a pale and liner in between washes.

Yep. We’ve been cloth diapering our daughter since she was tiny and she’s almost 2. We’ll be putting our son in cloth, as well.
I recommend the ‘Fluff Love and CD Science’ group on Facebook. They’re a massive group of cloth diapering parents that are there to help with troubleshooting and figuring out a wash routine that works for your machine.

We have done cloth diapers from the start of our parenting journey and have now cloth diapered 3 kids from birth and plan to do the same with our 4th due in June. :) We do newborn sizes first because we have small babies (as did my mother and her sister, so we always planned for small babies), and then switch to one size around 10 pounds.

:) I’ve never done cloth diapers with my kids. But I hated doing them with my younger brother back in the day. 😜 I’m sure they are better then the old school pin diapers with plastic pants. But washing them was always so nasty to me.
