Is it worth it to get the newborn insert for my baby carrier?

I started wearing my LO at 2 weeks but the lillebaby didn't need an insert so I would say yes. the earlier you start to wear them the more they will like it!

There's videos on YouTube for how to roll up a towel or blanket to use instead. I just used the boba wrap until my son got to where he wanted to move around more.

What if you get a cheap one that you can use right away? The inserts can be more expensive than some of the cheaper carriers. My baby wasn’t over 12 pounds until much later. She’s only like 16 now at 10 months.
Infantino carriers are pretty inexpensive and I have one that works pretty well.

I never used an insert in mine and I started carrying him around 3 weeks old. He was super tiny and wouldn’t have hit that “requirement” until he was about 2 months old and weight on the one we have is 8 lbs. I just always made sure to position him so he could breath and always kept my hand underneath him.
