target vs buy buy baby??

Question

what are your thoughts on these two stores for all things baby? I'd love to hear your experiences with both stores for registries, perks, price, selection... everything!!!

My thought is honestly neither Amazon has the same products and they're always between $80 less for example the same crib found on Amazon at buy buy baby was $230 less.

I have registered at both. most of my stuff is from target, but I did find some things I liked were out of stock or unavailable so I put it on my buybuybaby registry. I like them both, although BBB has a much better selection and stock of baby items and you can use bed bath and beyond coupons there, a staff member told me they will even accept expired ones. I did find BBB was more "friendly" when it came to registering, I sat down with them and they gave me a list of common items went over stroller pro and cons with me answered any questions about products, as where target just handed me the scanner and I was on my own. target employees may not be as helpful and as informative as BBB employees are. As for prices they were pretty comparative, target may have been a few dollars cheaper on a few things, but not much

Buybuybaby was amazing to register at. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. They checked on my husband and I a few times throughout the store and really helped us narrow down some things. They are VERY pricey on a lot of stuff. The cribs especially. The perks they give are awesome though. Target is way better price wise for majority of people but the registry process wasn't as nice. No one helps you...at all. Their staff definitely isn't as knowledgeable either. I don't remember if they have a perks program with their registry since all we got was "here's the scanner" and that was it. All of the stores have ridiculous online registries in the sense that all of them are a pain in the ass to update. I already had my registries set up and went online to add stuff and wanted to pull my hair out and throw my computer. It is worth it if you can physically go into the stores to register because you get free goodies at both.

I haven’t registered at buy buy baby since there isn’t one where I live. Target has been great for me for both pregnancies! 
Very easy to use the completion coupon. Hassle free returns are a big plus, too. 
It’s very user friendly and easy for guests to find your registry just by looking up your name. A lot of times, the gifts don’t get marked off if people don’t make a point to do it, so you might wind up with multiples. No biggie though, cause you can just return them and get gift cards to put towards what you need.

So I’ve used both. They are both close to me, and with the Buy Buy Baby coupon I’ve gotten some good deals. Regularly I use Target though because it is a tad closer to my house and I do grocery shopping there too (so I’m there anyway many times). I actually sometimes go to Buy Buy Baby and test things out and then see if it’s cheaper at Target or on Amazon. We also have a Burlington Coat Factory with a Baby Depot and I’ve found some great deals there.

I loves Target, awesome welcome package, tons of coupons throughout pregnancy, discounts on anything left over, plus they sent a onesie and a welcome gift after LO was born too. I’m sure other places do similar stuff but I was super happy registering at target!

They’re both great, although Buy Buy Baby tends to have a larger selection of baby gear, and some of the higher end brands. Also, you can use (non expired) coupons from Bed Bath and Beyond at Buy Buy Baby! Such a cool perk. Buy Buy Baby also sends me coupons in the mail almost weekly. 
One thing to consider is the proximity of the stores to where you and your baby shower guests live. Not everyone lives close to a Buy Buy Baby, but Target is usually pretty common. This is a big consideration because many people like to go into physical stores to buy things, especially older guests and family members. I live 10 minutes away from a Buy Buy Baby, but there isn’t one within 45-60 minutes of any of my family members. I think the closest one to my mom and sister is 3 hours away! Target also generally has more baby clothes and better deals.

I think Buy Buy Baby is pricey. I like Target. If you’re buying stuff yourself I agree to price check against Amazon. For me with a registry though I kept it easy for people and did Target. While you can make a registry through Amazon, I kmow a lot of people aren’t big with online shopping (my mom for instance).

I like Target. There is no buy buy baby where my parents and lots of my family live, and only one near where my boyfriend and I live so it was the best option for us. I feel like Target is also a little cheaper and I found more variety there. However I do agree with the other poster, Amazon is a great option with endless variety—-I just didn’t trust a lot of my non-tech family to actually utilize that kind of registry.
