Yes just use a ball not too heavy and be careful not to pull a muscle. It won't hurt the baby but it could hurt you. 
The "no lifting heavy" thing is not entirely accurate. If you're not having a high risk pregnancy, you can lift things. Even with having placenta previa, my Dr told me I can lift up to 20 pounds. So just don't pick a 20 pound bowling ball and you'll be fine ;)

I was told no since its a fall risk. However, I'm high risk so I have to be careful with basically everything I do 😒 So maybe it's ok for those with typical pregnancies but I'd still ask your ob

You're the second person I've seen this and I was so confused until I read the comments. Where I live we do candlepin so the bowling ball is light and small. Ah this makes so much more sense with a heavy bowling  ball! I think if your balance isn't too off you'll be fine.
