how likely are you to get pregnant if you have protected sex and you're not on birth coltrol. i get that it's not very likely but I'm just worried ugh. helpp

Depending on what you mean by protected.
Condoms are highly effective as long as they don’t break or are expired, but it won’t protect you from some stds like crabs or herpes. 
Birth control is super effective (90-99.8) as long as you are following the directions carefully (like taking the pill everyday at the same time) but that doesn’t protect you from any stds (if you go condomless) 
That’s the gist of what I know. 
Best thing to do is use birth control (I prefer the shot) and use a condom.
