Bleeding after being fingered

Alright so I was in a hot tub with a ~friend~ and we had some fun, he started fingering me and it was great, didn’t hurt at all but it was intense, a little rough. The next morning I noticed I was bleeding, and my period ended a week ago. I looked it up a bit and it could be tearing in my vaginal walk from his nails or something, but how long until the bleeding should stop? Is it okay to wear tampons or should I stick to pads? I’m a little sore too, nothing like this has ever happened to me before and I was wondering if it’s a common-ish thing?
