Spotting/cramping at 10 and 11dpo

Anyone have any advice for distinguishing implantation bleeding/cramping from a very early period? My cycles are usually pretty consistent and if they are off — they’re always late, not four days early. However, the cramps were pretty severe and it was more than one spot of blood (but nowhere near as much as if I were starting my period.) so I’m unsure if IB is even an option. I’m essentially in limbo until either my period shows up or it doesn’t, and if anyone has any advice to distinguish the two it would be greatly appreciated.
