What does it mean?

For the past few days, I have spotted only twice for a few seconds and than stopped. My periods are normally regular and have always been consistently on time or a day early/late. This is new to me especially since my period is expected to start on Wednesday. I have taken pregnancy test already to make sure including one yesterday but they all show negative.
