How many of you changed your last name after you got married and after you divorced did you change your name back or did you keep his last name?

I’m currently going through a separation and then headed to divorcing. I’m just asking for advice on what to do.  I’ll take any kind of separation / divorce advice. Than you

When my mom divorced my dad she kept his last name simply because everything was listed under her married name. She kept his last name for like 10 years until she remarried. I think it’s a lot easier if your comfortable with it but I can completely understand where someone wouldn’t be and would think it’s worth the trouble to change it back.

I’m not divorced but I would keep his last name because it’s the last name my children have. If we didn’t have kids together then I would go back to my maiden name.

I’m married and I’d keep my husbands last name. My grandmas maiden last name is my husbands last name lol so it’s still a family name 🤷🏻‍♀️ & its a pain to get it changed.

I kept my ex’s name so that my daughter and I still had the same last name. I’m actually getting married to the love of my life in June and of course he wants me to get rid of my ex’s name and take his, but my daughter wants me to keep hers... 🤷🏻‍♀️ i dont know what to do either

I’d change back to my maiden name for a few reasons....it’s shorter, easier to pronounce, spell and say.

personally i would change it back. but my parents divorced after 25 yrs and my mom kept my dads name. i would make the effort just because its a symbol to me of how we are a family now, and if we're ever not a family then i would want my birth name back
