Who did you have in room during labour for first child?

Who did you ladies have in the room during labour? I'm due in 14 weeks, and I'm finishing up my birth plan & will be making a note of who I do/dont want in the room during my labour/delivery

Well initially it was just supposed to be my ex-husband in my mom. Then a lady came in and asked me if she could witness my life birth because she needed to do so in order to be able to teach birthing classes.... I am one for supporting education so I allowed it. Then my OB had not one but two student Drs. My nurse also had a student. As I was laboring, they broke my water and noticed that there was merconium in the amniotic fluid. So my doc says they will call a code green baby as soon as she is born to make sure she didn't swallow any of it. A different team would come and check her out. Okay, of course this was fine. Then her heart started to drop so they called in the head OB for the hospital to assist and vacuum her out. No surprise he also had two students in tow 🙄🙄 By the time she finally came out there were no less then 15 people in that room!! everyone else saw my child before I did 😤 I had to yell to get them to move out of the way so I could at least see her. I feel like I did my duty in the education department so when my son was born two years later I said no to ALL students.

I had my mother, my husband, and my photographer during birth. 
Before that I had my husband, both of my parents, and me and my husbands best friends (another couple) when it was just contractions. 
I’m so grateful they allowed the photographer in the room. The pictures are raw and beautiful and so amazing.

It was just myself and my husband. I didn't want anyone else there as I believe it's a special time for the couple becoming a family. our hospital only allows you to have 2 birthing partners and does not allow anyone else in while your in the labour ward so I did have my mum down as my backup in case I couldn't cope. after my daughter was born and I had something to eat and a shower they said as the labour ward wasn't too busy our parents could come up

My partner and I decided that were not going to tell anyone about me going into labour other then his dad who is welcome to stay while I'm dealing with contractions but must leave during the birth and it'll then be myself and my partner. Then we are going to spend the first hour by ourself with our newborn to bond, after that we will announce the arrival and we will then allow visitors. (His family is crazy when it comes to people giving birth and there ends up being like the whole family waiting at the hospital)

I had my partner, my sister & my labour and delivery midwife. 
My labour didn't really progress in 2 hours so my sister went to make a phone call to my mum to let her know how stuff was going, she was gone for about 20 minutes & when she got back my son was in my arms!!!!! almost as soon as she left my midwife checked me and I had gone from no progress from 6/7cms to 10cms dilated all of a sudden lol! My sister and me were both gutted that she missed the actual birth but it all happened so suddenly none of us could of seen it coming. If she is able to be then she will be my birthing partner again with my twins in September alongside my partner ☺️✨
