Nursing school with an infant??

Am I crazy for wanting to go to school after the baby is born for nursing? I know nursing school is hard and with a baby I’m sure it’ll be even harder. But I’m going to a single mom (with the help of my parents) and I need to be able to support my child on my own. Any nurses here that could give me some encouragement??

Nursing school is incredibly stressful. I definitely don’t miss it (graduated 4 years ago). However, many people have done it as single moms and with little ones. It is difficult but doable. If you have the support to be able to do it, then go for it!

I went to a really good school, but I have to say I didn’t think getting my BSN was nearly as stressful or difficult as people will tell you. We had a single mom and a few other parents in our class who all made it through!  I did an accelerated BSN because I already had a Bachelors. If you have the prerequisites you may be able to do something like that and get done quickly. Go for it!

If anything it’s motivation for your child go ! Education isn’t crazy regardless the situation...Yes it’s stressful but worth it I promise u can do it 👩🏽‍⚕️

My friend completed her nursing degree and went on to do more all with a newborn! It’s going to be hard but if you’re determined and don’t give up you’ll be fine! Plus you have some motivation to keep you going !!!

It will be really hard but if it's what you want then you can do it! I find out in 2 weeks if I got into grad school... I'm a nurse and I'm hoping to go back to become a nurse practitioner. Classes will start less than a month after my due date. The program only starts once a year and I don't want to keep putting it off. I'm just gonna have to make some sacrifices and so will you!

As long as you have a reliable sitter you’ll do fine. I went to nursing school with plenty of ladies who had just had babies and my youngest was 3 when I started. It’s definitely hard, but possible.

I got pregnant in 3rd semester of nursing school, had my baby on spring break and got pregnant again in 4th semester.  It was tough, but doable, I had an amazing support system, my parents were so helpful.  That was 10 years ago, but I say go for it.  it is the best thing I ever did for myself!  good luck!

Currently in nursing school (my first semester)  I am just over 21 weeks pregnant & have a soon to be 4 year old! It's tough and the stress isn't a lie. Idk how next semester will go with a newborn but the best advice I can give you is to STAY ORGANIZED & use any support and help anyone offers you!
