Son still needs swaddling?

My son is 3 1/2 months old and he still needs swaddling to fall asleep otherwise his limbs fly all over the place and just keeps himself awake and gets really frustrated. Is this normal?

It’s their startle reflex and it goes away around 4-6 months so yes, it’s normal. 
Just beware that most babies start rolling around 3-4 months and once they do, it’s no longer safe to swaddle.

My oldest would have gladly been swaddled for a year...and they did swaddle him at daycare for that long.
If he is rolling you kind of have to unswaddle, but if he is not rolling, you can keep doing it.

My 4 month old daughter is still swaddled. I have a zippidee zip to try one we decide to stop swaddling.

So does mine. He has reflux and if we don’t swaddle him none of us would ever sleep. I’m going to talk to the doctor about what else we can do because even swaddled her jerks and bends in half and wakes himself ☹️

Try swaddling with one arm out at a time. Once they get use to that you can take both out and see how you go.
