Breastfeeding and trying to conceive

So I am still breastfeeding my 13 month old which I am so happy to carry on however I haven’t had a period yet. My partner would like to try for another baby and so would I. I have got the coil and will have it removed, he thinks that it could stop me having a period. What do you think ? Or is it because I am still breastfeeding?
