So my great nephew is not 4 days old and cps placed him in my care as his guardian due to parents history of violence and drug use.. their first baby girl got taken away and she’s not even a year old till next month. The mother who is my nephews girlfriend wanted him placed with me due to me working from home and knowing that as long as I have him I’ll do the supervised visit at home.. it breaks my heart cause cps is not giving my nephew a chance to bond with his son he only gets to see him 1 day out of the week and if he goes to church he can see him then since it’s a public place.. but he’s he mother can spend 8 hrs a day every day with him.. that’s not that right my nephew who is 16 going to be 17 is the best dad ever when his daughter was born he was up every feeding and caring for her 24/7 while Mom slept and did what she wanted.. I really don’t know what to do as of next step. I know I took a big responsibility as becoming the baby’s guardian but it breaks me knowing that they stay a house away and can’t bond right with him!!
