University Student (looking for a job) and TTC, advice?!

Question

I’m in an echocardiography program (cardiac ultrasound) that’s very demanding. Unfortunately my city doesn’t have a lot of open positions, and I’m competing with my entire class for a job when I’m done. 
 I’m 24, and we’ve been married for 3 years and we are ready to have kids (looking forward to it) but I’m so stressed I won’t find a job, primarily for the financial security.
 On the flip side, if I DO get pregnant, I’m so nervous a job will be really difficult as a new graduate trying to establish myself (from me having to take time off for appointments, maternity leave, etc.) 
 Anyone in a similar position? Advice or thoughts?

I’m not trying to scare you but they are more Likely to pick a non pregnant candidate opposed to one they know will require leave.. maybe wait until you get the job, hen they can’t deny you leave. You will also probably have benefits such as health insurance if you wait till after you get the job. Or you could look into relocating to another area that has a higher demand for your profession. Waiting a year after getting a job to conceive could be really beneficial to you. That way you are already established and won’t feel bad about taking off for appointments and such. You went through this schooling for a reason and I’m sure you wouldn’t want to throw it all away because you wanted to have a kid right this second. In the grand scheme of things, waiting an extra year or two will seem like nothing. On the flip side, however, if you rush into something it could have a negative lasting impact.

You can hold off on getting pregnant while you get yourself settled and established....to me what you’re trying to do sounds a little irresponsible and careless. just wait to finish, find a job in your field or out of its too hard, settle there for like a year and then try to get pregnant. You have nothing but time, you’re young.

Honestly, I'd hold off on getting pregnant until you find a job and establish yourseld. I understand you've been married for some time. But there are a lot of sides to pregnancy that people do not tell you about. You could end up with bad morning sickness and need time off. It's not easy to deal with the symptoms and a new job. You could end up losing your job if you need to stay home due to feeling ill/appointments. I'd wait 6months to a year before trying for a baby.
