Our labor and delivery story:
We came in Wednesday night to start cervidil to get the induction process started. Went from a 1-1.5/2 cm and 40% effaced to 60% effaced. Started pitocin and broke my water at about 12:45 yesterday (which, ew). Contractions got worse but was able to get thru them with the help of my loved ones. I made it to 4cm and 60% effaced. Eventually, tho, they became unbearable. I thought maybe that meant I was progressing, but I was not. After 2 failed epidurals (only half of my body was numb) I was exhausted, Kendalyn was struggling as well, so we ended up getting an emergency cesarian section. I was TERRIFIED. But the staff at my hospital were wonderful. Held conversation with me to keep me distracted. When I told my anesthesiologist I felt like I would pass out, he had me hold his hand, and when it was all over, he stroked my forehead and told me how great I did. Wasn’t my birth plan, and I’m so envious of those who got their vaginal delivery, but later in life I’d like to try for a VBAC, Csections are no joke ☹️ My little rainbow baby girl was born 3/15/18 at 10:52 pm weighing 7lbs 8oz. Love at first sight.
