How soon after birth did you take your newborn out?

My son is 2 weeks old today. I’m ready to get out of the house. He’s been out twice. Once to his dr apt and then the second time was my post op C-section apt. I’m a little hesitant to take him out so soon. How long did you ladies wait before taking your newborn out in public other than a dr apt?

I took my son to his grandmas house and aunts house when he was a week old. And we went to the mall to get out of the house and walk around at two weeks.

With my second she was born Nov 16th and we were suppose to be hosting Friendsgiving Nov 19th. We got home Nov 17th at 11pm. Ran a bunch of errands on the 18th. Then surprised everyone with baby(we only told very close family that baby was born) on the 19th 😅😅😅 
So basically we took baby out immediately

Pretty much right away. I had my baby in the moby wrap and made sure no one touched her unless I said they could.

I waited like 3-5 days before I went out but it was to church so idk of that counts lol

1 week. we went to walmart. gotta have groceries!

The day we brought her home from the hospital, we went out to lunch and hit up Target to grab something for dinner. A week later, we had family come to town and we were at the zoo, the beach, out for meals, etc. I never kept us cooped up in the house.

The next day for her baby appointment and then  like a week later so I could buy some food. Take them right after breastfeeding so they’ll sleep the whole time

My family is from the Bahamas. We don't believe in taking baby out early at all. My daughter only went to doctor appointments and then back home for 8 weeks. Ater her 2 month shots I took her to church at 11 weeks. That was her first official outing. I also did not have a lot of visitors. My mom, grandma, and in-laws and that's it. My in-laws cooked food for us, and my husband and mom did out side shopping. Not for much things because I stocked up on everything under the sun before baby.

Besides doctors appointments and to my parents' house, I waited six weeks. He was born in December, so I was worried about the flu. I don't think I'd have waited quite as long if it wasn't flu season. My husband did the groceries for me. Because of birthing complications, I could hardly walk for three weeks anyway. My next one (due in October) will probably have to go out immediately because my husband won't be able to take off to help me.
