buying baby clothes?

So I was wondering if you all are buying a lot of baby clothes right now or waiting until your shower? if you are buying what are you buying a lot of newborn or what size? TIA

We’re buying zero baby clothes or toys and didn’t put either of those things on our registry. People will buy them anyway, and we’ll fill in the gaps after our shower :)

I’ve found a lot of used baby clothes and it’s helping us save a lot of money. Check out good will, eBay, Craigslist and Facebook groups. Most people are willing to sell a lot of clothes.

my husband and I went crazy with the clothes and so I've decided to ask for gift cards only for gifts. I won't need any clothes when baby comes and I already have 70+ items, 6 pair of shoes, etc

From the moment I found out I was pregnant I’ve been buying baby clothes. I started out with gender neutral stuff but once I found out it’s a boy I went on a shopping spree. My dad complained about me buying anything for the baby before the shower but I’m due in August and the shower isn’t until July so I’m not waiting that long. If my son has an over abundance of stuff then when its no longer needed I’ll donate it.

I’m 23 weeks FTM and just a couple of days ago I’ve started buying a few things. Ive bought a few sets of burp cloths, a few sleeper sets and onesie sets. It’s tricky knowing what size to buy...and also not knowing if I should be buying long sleeves for my baby due July 20th since we’ll be home in air conditioning for 6 weeks. I think I’m done buying things until after the babyshower. At least I’m gonna TRY not to buy anything else....

I’m pretty much stocked already from new born to 3 months but I bought a ton from other people and got over 200 articles of clothing for only 50$. I have new stuff also but babies wear everything maybe once so I’ve been saving money buying from others. I want my money to go to the bigger stuff and yes people love buying clothes for showers but they like buying the small cutesy stuff. I’m sending a needs list out in my invites hoeing people will get more then just clothes

I buy quite a bit in every size just so that they will have something and I'm not scrambling to get stuff when they have a growth spurt. my kids stayed in newborn for two months and every other size at least 3 months.

Second time Mom and I would say don’t register for clothes at all, and keep your buying to a minimum bc you still will get clothes for your shower bc people can’t help themselves with baby clothes lol!  I have a baby who was born 8.1lbs and 21in and he wore newborn for a month, he was big but he was drowning in the 0-3 and i wanted him to be comfy and snug so i actually had to go out and buy a few things! So I’d say have a few newborn things on hand but not to go too crazy with that size when you do buy stuff after your shower! I’d also say don’t pull tags off everything and wash it all right away because it may be worthwhile to go and exchange some of the stuff for better sizes once the baby is here!!

I’m not having a shower but my sister has given me everything so far. And I only kept 0-3 months and up. Since most outgrow newborn clothes quickly if they even wear them at all
