Kids 5 years apart?

So this month my husband and I have started ttc baby #2! Our son is currently 4, he will be 5 in August so there will be over 5 years between the two. Does anyone have kids 5 years apart? Specifically with a boy being the older of the two? 
How has it been for you? Do they play together? Or is it too much of an age gap for them to really “play” and the older child feels more like a babysitter when with the younger? 
Sorry for all the questions, I am just concerned they will not be able to be as close and I would love them to! Thanks in advance for any guidance!

I have two biological sisters. When my youngest sister was born, I was 7 and my other sister was 5. We never played with her. Honestly it was like babysitting because we had nothing in common with her. Way too much of an age gap growing up. BUT with that said, my youngest sister is now my absolute best friend. She’s now 18 and I’m 25 and I couldn’t imagine my life without her. I easily get along with her so much better than my 23 year old sister.

My oldest sister is 7 years older than me, my middle sister is 5 years older than me. As a child I was “the annoying little sister” that they had to drag along or baby sit, and that was lonely sometimes. But as an adult (I’m now 29), since college age probably, we have all been close. We have a group text, talk constantly, go on girls/sisters trips, travelled to different countries together, etc. And now we all are pregnant together (planned). We are as close as can be. Age doesn’t matter just how you are raised and the value of family in their lives.

I have 4 sisters and I’m the oldest. The second one is 5 years younger than me and we were close-ish as kids but got closer when I became a teen and into my 20s. Currently we’re not that close but that’s because of her abusive boyfriend. She’s actually currently closest with the third sister who is 5 years younger than her.

my biggest daughter is turning 5 in sept and her youngest sister is currently 8 month. the biggest sister is very helpful and love playing with her. the middle daughter is 3 year but she is like a play by myself kid most time.i know you said son but usually at that age their very helpful

My husband and his brother are 5 years apart and literally don’t speak... at all! Like he came to town from out of state and we didn’t even see him. 
Me and my siblings are all super close my one brother is 16 months older my sister is 18 months younger and my other brother is 4 years young. So I would say it just depends on the kids. My older brother and younger brother had a love hate relationship until adulthood! We do have a younger sister who is 12 years younger than me and none of us are close with her but we didn’t see her much growing up and now we are all out of the house with families, and she’s 14.

My nephew and his older brother are 6 years apart.. but the older one doesn’t play with my nephew.. he’s always on his phone or with video games

I’m closest to my siblings who are 5 years apart from me! I have one sibling that’s 2 years older than me and we played a fair bit when I was younger, but we pretty much never got along. I think the 5 year age gap kind of felt like I was watching my younger sister, so I was less mean.
