I’m so happy to be starting my 2nd trimester on Monday! I’ve been anxious and worried this whole time. I just started to feel good and confident about this pregnancy...allowing myself to be a little happy and excited!

But my doc just called me and said I tested positive as a carrier for Cystic Fibrosis AND Spinal Muscular Atrophy. My husband has a blood test scheduled for Monday morning, the first day of our 2nd trimester...when we wanted to announce and celebrate. But I guess we’ll hold off on that. The doctor said it’s rare for BOTH of us to be carriers, but of course, I’m freaking out. I hear that even if he is a carrier, there would still be a 75% chance that the baby would be just fine.

We won’t know the results for another 12 days....the day of the down syndrome test. There’s ANOTHER result I’m worried about now!

Man, it’s so scary being pregnant!
