Scared to have sex

I’m sooooo scared to start having sex again when the 6 week mark hits after birth because I’m so scared to get pregnant again. I just had my first and me and my SO do not want any more! Do any of you ladies know if I can get the IUD at my postpartum appointment or will I have to wait until my first period to get it?
