Is it ok to have preferences when it comes to attraction?

I notice a lot on here that immediately if someone has a preference lest say for example brown hair the jump down the persona throat like “oh so blonde hair is ugly.” I notice scenarios like this on here a lot. So are we not allowed to have preferences? Or things we are particularly attracted to. Just because one is attracted to something or finds something more appealing for x, y, and z reasons why does that have to automatically mean that its shaming someone who doesn’t have it?

Mostly just curious what your guys thoughts are.
