Help, what is Hpv?

So ladies, i have a really stupid question because my gynecologist was just terrible. Is HPV similar to like.. chlamydia or something like that? So i have to tell every person i have sex with, that i have it? Im so confused what it actually is.

It is an STD/ STI. STI’s are curable and STD’s aren’t. So it depends on the strand that you have. If it causes Genital warts I will more than likely one away on it on with in a year or two. However, if its not the strand that causes warts the it can eventually cause cervical cancer and it is never going to go away. It is definitely good to tell any partner because they are at risk for different types of cancer once infected and they should keep an eye on it. And honestly because there is no test for men more than likely they already have it. So I really wouldn’t stress too much over this. Just educate yourself on the subject and you will be fine. I have had it for 2 years now and it gets easier.

Hpv is human papillomavirus , or in other words genital warts. There are two different trends of hpv. The kind that presents warts and potentially go away on its own, or the kind that doesn’t present warts and can eventually lead to cervical cancer. HPV is extremely common and not detectable in men so a man won’t know they have it as there are no test for men, which is why it’s so commonly spread. It is and STD, where as chlamydia is a STI, which is treatable. HPV isn’t exactly treatable but they do have medication to lessen outbreaks, and if you have outbreaks , like I said, it can disappear on its on. So essentially you have and STD. Use protection.

HPV you’ll have some warts maybe but there’s really no symptoms.. there’s good strains and bad strains.. a bad strain can cause a woman to have cervical cancer unfortunately unless you catch it early.. you definitely need to tell every partner you have it
