Please Advise: PMS slightly worse after sex
Sure I’m being irrationally anxious, but am posting on here anyway to ease my mind and would really value any words of wisdom.
Basically, I had (protected) sex for the first time two Sundays ago and began my period exactly on time two days afterwards. Absolutely no pain or blood during sex, though my abdominal muscles ached afterwards (from the exercise I suppose). However, my period was a bit heavier than usual and my PMS symptoms (irritability/low mood & cramps before and during the start of my period) were slightly worse.
I’ve had no abnormal symptoms at all but I keep reading things on here which suggest your cycle shouldn’t be at all affected by sex/losing virginity, so just wanted to check this doesn’t sound like endometriosis symptoms, which I’ve read a lot about.
For some context: I have moderate anxiety (particularly surrounding anything health-related) which I manage well but which is rearing its head at the moment due to work, and had protected sex using condoms (both parties are free of STDs).
