I had the Mirena in for a few years and had no side effects. Except I didn't have a period which was AWESOME for me cus I suffered bad. They came back the same month I had it taken out

Yes I’ve had it twice and when it’s placed correctly it’s awesome! 
The first time I had it for 2.5 years. I got it after my son was born. Insertion was simple and almost painless. Just a small cramp. My only symptom was occasional spotting. 
The second time I got it. Was after I had my second baby, and for some reason my cervix was closed, high, and hard. It hurt really bad when the dr inserted it, I felt like she was elbow deep in my vagina. Lol it was so terrible. She said she had a really hard time doing it. Well she must not have placed it correctly because it fell out 6 months later. My only symptom that time was I bled for 4 weeks after it was placed. After that I didn’t have any symptoms.

I love my mirena. No periods and no pregnancy scares and no remembering to take pills! But the insertion was extremely painful for me. Like, I cried and had to hold my mom's hand and I'm a grown woman lol

I had the Mirena for 4 years. Worst  Decision ever! I had a lot of pain and cramps all the time. Before I finally had it taken out, it moved a lot and caused scarring. I have become pregnant 2 since I had it removed 2 years ago and both pregnancies ended in a miscarriage because of the scarring.
