Is it possible to potty train a child that is possibly speech delayed? My daughter is 20 months and doesn’t say much at all. Just babbles like a baby. Well, I started potty training yesterday, and so far it’s going better than I expected. She went four times yesterday, and once this morning. Even though is going ok I’m starting to think I could be wasting our time. Since she can’t talk yet I’m wondering how will she be able to tell me that she needs to potty. She can’t even say potty. If we go out in public she won’t be able to tell me that she needs to go. Should I just wait? Parents, have you experienced a speech delayed child that successfully potty trained? I don’t want to stress my daughter out. I’m motivated, but I don’t want it to backfire.
