What do women mean by post labor stretch marks?

There’s a poll saying over 10% of women got their stretch marks postpartum. What does this mean? Did they not notice them until after labor? Or does your stomach get bigger while in labor? I’m confused by this

I had a few stretch marks on my belly before I had my daughter and none on my boobs but when my milk came in 3 days postpartum they literally ballooned 2 cup sizes in half a day and they were COVERED in stretch marks! 😭

women do not develop the stretch marks after they've had the baby, it's not until after they have the baby that they notice them because the body has changed. You're more easily able to see where the stretch marks are without the belly stretched taut. women also lose weight after having baby and that makes it easier to see the stretch marks as well particularly in the buttocks hips thighs arms knees Etc

The rapid shrinking of the belly and skin after giving birth can cause stretch marks in some people. It’s not really stretching the skin then but it’s similar damage. I got mine during pregnancy though.

I didn't get any until after I gave birth. I thought that all of the lotioning I did while pregnant paid off, but apparently not! They didn't appear until a few days after my son was born.

I got them on my legs after birth. I never had them during pregnancy but they appeared on my legs near my butt. I’m sure my whole downstairs area stretched while I was pushing and that’s why I got them. But idk.
