Anyone else need to have an MRI While pregnant..??

I had to have an mri to rule out appendicitis this weekend and I am now 10 weeks pregnant, no contrast was used but it was of my abdomen. I understand that I didn't really have a choice because undiagnosed appendicitis would have been more detrimental to me and my baby I just would feel better to hear from others who had to have one! Thanks

I'm a med student and actually want to go into radiology! Unlike X-ray and CT, MRI doesn't use ionizing radiation. It uses magnets! Very strong MRI magnets have some drawbacks, but not to the level of ionizing radiation. Every imaging modality has drawbacks, even ultrasound!

I had an MRI done at exactly 10 weeks for the same exact thing. Everything turned out fine, currently I am 30 weeks and baby is healthy and happy! Hope this helps 👍🏼☺️
