baby cereal??

my baby is aboyt to be 6 months..I was told once I start giving her cereal and baby food that her formula would drop...i forgot to ask how so? do i substitute a bottle for a solid food??

You don’t substitute. Feed them before a meal and then give them solids until they’re done. Basically. But I’d skip he cereal. It’s empty calories and not nutritious at all. 
A baby’s main source of nutrition must come from breastmilk or formula for the first year. So solid food (which is really only to learn textures and such) is a supplement to what they’re already receiving not a substitute.

I started my lo at 4.5 months when she got teeth! She has cereal for breakfast and then a bottle and a nap once she is up she plays for a while then has lunch which could be sweet potato, pumpkin or potato or anything similar and then will have more play and when she’s tired will have another bottle and a nap . Then up again and play and will then have some custard or fruit purée and then play. Then bath and play then bottle and bed for the night! She’s now 6 months and pretty sure there’s another bottle in and around feeds there too 🤔 she also loves drinking a lot of water when eating!!!! She does it all really well and has incorporated food well!!! But that’s our daily!

Never replace formula or BM for food until they are one. Give bottle before the option of food.

We’ve been introducing purées after her 6:30 feed. She always gets fed right when we get home then we plop her in her seat and she gets about 1 1/2 oz of food. I don’t know why I have such a bad feeling about cereal, I just feel like it’s something to just fill them or vitamins are added to it to make it worth the while.

My almost six month old hates food. So we try a little every day but she usually ends up gagging too much so we stop.

so far I haven't had to drop any bottles..she likes her baby food and LOOVES her cereal but still eats 5 oz very 4 hours..I giver her cereal around 10 and the baby food around 5..but she still had her bottle every 4 hours..went to the doctor today and he said she's doing great and to keep doing what we are doing

skip the cereal my dr told me its pointless useless food. ive already been doing fruit and veggies(bananas,sweet potatoes. simple but yummy) and if you can get one of these do not only does it help with hand eye cordnation but they get a treat too
