PCOS considering TTC... a novel. Lol.

Gr

A little backstory. I’m almost 32, twice divorced, and previously unable to conceive w/ PCOS dx. First husband and I tried for a year in our early 20s. Last husband didn’t want kids (shoulda been a red flag 🤷🏻‍♀️) and we were together a while cuz I was scared to leave so I kinda gave up on motherhood in my mid twenties.

Fast forward to the present. I’m a year outside of my toxic marriage, lost 70 lbs, and feeling healthier and happier daily. Met a guy with whom I share shocking compatibility in relationship and communication styles (which is kinda amazing cuz I’m nontraditional AF) and he has made it very clear that having kids is important to him. He’s aware of my history of infertility and even though it’s early in the relationship, we’ve discussed surrogacy as a potential future solution.

However, my previous gyno said she sees women my age with PCOS getting knocked up all the time because they stopped taking precautions in their 20s and then their ovaries start kinda having a Going Out Of Business Sale. I’m also hoping that the weight loss and other little lifestyle changes I’ve made will help kick my cycle into some semblance of regularity.

A little backstory:

My pcos has been treated over the years (pretty inconsistently tbh) with Birth Control Pills, Metformin, Progesterone Pills, and most recently Mirena. I am currently not on any formal treatment but I have been taking cinnamon supplements and folate and multivitamins consistently for a while.

When untreated, my amenorrhea would last anywhere from 3-14 months, and then the dysmenorrhea would be severe and painful. My cycle has no consistency in length, but since I’ve started losing weight and when I had the Mirena placed, I’ve noticed it getting closer and closer to between 28-35 days in length.

3/7 my Mirena straight up fell out during a string check. Lining shed 3/9-13. Had unprotected sex 3/15 & 3/22. According to Eve (which I’ve been tracking with over a year) my CM discharge 3/22 indicated ovulation. Only recently hooked up glow because I want to get my cycle better in check before we get to a point in our relationship where we might TTC for realsies. But glow ALSO says I would have ovulated 3/22.

I know this is totally wishful thinking, but I’ve heard rumors about women getting pregnant immediately after taking out Mirena... but I also hear it can take 3-12 months for that to happen even for a healthy person...

and I feel like I’ve been going crazy because I’m logging nausea daily all week, and have been feeling weird flutters and super mellow cramps and twinges the past couple days.

I guess I’m just looking for encouragement. Anyone here conceive with PCOS after losing weight or getting off Mirena? Any advice?
