High risk dr appointments?

Hi ladies! I’m just curious, do they give you more ultrasounds or dr appointments if you are over 35 and high risk? I had preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome with my first pregnancy and needed an emergency c-section, so I know I’ll be high risk for my future pregnancies. I’m curious how they treat high risk patients differently. Also, will I need more tests more often? Thanks!

In my first trimester (between weeks 4-13) I saw my doctor a HROB (high risk ob) every week and had ultrasounds at 4w5d, 5w6d, 7w5d, and 12w2d. Now that I’m in the second trimester I’ll see them every other week. I’ve had 2 ultrasounds at 13w4d and 14w5d. I have an anatomy scan set for 19w2d and a fetal echo at 20w3d. They’ve been using the Doppler since week 10 and have only had one time they couldn’t find it hence the ultrasound at 14w5d. Once I reach the third trimester I’ll start back with the once a week visits. I’m 39  Have a history of preterm labor (my kiddos come between 35-37 weeks) this is baby number 5. I’m type 1 diabetic, on insulin and in stage 3 renal failure. I had a baby with a congenital heart defect. My blood pressure is a bit high but they just put me on baby aspirin. I will probably be induced if I don’t have the baby by 38 weeks. We did have the NIPT Harmony test and all was good. Baby looks great although he’s measuring 9days ahead from our dating scans even though he was measuring 3 days behind in  The beginning.

I wasn't told I was high risk but I was 38, overweight, and had slightly high bp so they did non-stress tests 2x a week and monitored my amniotic fluid via ultrasound 1x per week from like 35 or 36 weeks on.

I go for my first appointment with my OB at 6 weeks. Last time I was 33 and my first appointment wasn't until 10 weeks. I know here the AMA cut off is 35, so this time at 37 almost 38, I will be considered high risk. I have been told by friends that I will have more appointments and an ultrasound every month.

I’m 39 - my doctor has told me that “advanced material age” starts at 40, so am not on any special/more frequent observation.  
I will be taking the Panorama test, by my own choice, at 9 weeks. 
Was told my OB referral will be at 20 weeks.
So, for now I just wait 🙃

I was 35 when I gave birth to my son. I was considered high risk as well as “advanced maternal age... 🙄. I had an ultrasound almost every month, I was actually scheduled for one the day I started leaking amniotic fluid (36&6). I was only given pictures of the first one and the 20 week one,  and one closer to 27 weeks, he refused to let us see his face and only wanted to show us his genitals.

I don’t think I get more appointments, but my doctor said that while some of his patients will only see the midwife at some appointments, I will usually see him because I am high risk.

OB referred me to a maternal fetal specialist as a precaution because I am 35. At the first appointment (14 weeks) they gave me an ultrasound and offered NIPT (the company they use covers the cost if insurance doesn't). They said that if all test results are normal I shouldn't need extra visits. But they will be doing my anatomy scan using their high-def ultrasound instead of the standard machine at my OB's office.

depends on the risk and on the doctor, I had a  friend that got ultrasounds very 15 days (she was also on bed rest for months)  and another one every month.

I've gotten one more ultrasound than the standard Norwegian protocol. usually you just get the anatomy scan, but I also got a 12 week scan. 
im 38 but I'm not high risk

They haven’t for me. But we did get a materniT21 blood test to test for chromosome abnormalities at 10 weeks. And learned it was a girl!
