infected belly piercing?

so I got mine pierced 3 weeks ago and it was healing completely fine. the past couple of days its been more red than usual and i’m not sure what i could be doing wrong? (could it be because of sweat from going to the gym?) i use Dial antibacterial soap in the shower and also sea salt soaks with a shot glass. I contacted my piecer and she said to stop using the soap and to just rinse it twice a day in the shower (just water). i want to trust her because she’s a certified APP member but I’ve never heard of anyone cleaning their belly piercing with JUST water. advice? is mine infected?

If she advised you to only use water then I’d take that advice. She most likely knows what she’s talking about 👍🏼

don't use dial. just salt water. when I first got pierced my belly button threw a fit and I had a lot of issues but it eventually settled. haven't had a piercing since that's caused me so many issues. it doesn't look infected per say just aggravated which im guessing is from the soap

get a shot glass hot water and sea salt mix it.together in the shot glass and put it on your belly button. hold it there for 5 minutes a for a few days. mine did this and that's what my piercer told me to do.

Use saline spray! Or just warm water in a Dixie cup to clean it, looks dried out! Probably from the soap!

I would just continue with sea salt soaks after working out/ after in may get dirty. Also try not to wear anything tight on it. If it hurts you could try a heat pad , thats what i did for my tragus and its healed up nicely. Good luck 😄

I just got mine almost 2 weeks ago. It just started to look like this and I was scared that it may be getting infected so this is a relief! I only use salt water n pour it on there every few hours but I’m going to do as y’all say and do the shot glass thing and keep an eye on it. This was so helpful! 😅

I’ve heard of using just water. You might be aggravating it worse with the soap if it’s inflamed. When I got mine pierced and some with my nips I only got the H2ocean spray and sprayed the area twice daily and onto a qtip to get around the piercing and healed fine. Never used the soap and kind of avoided the area in general besides the ocean spray. 
Make sure your pants aren’t bothering your belly button either. Or your shirt.

mine looked the same and healed just fine. your body's gonna get used to a piercing sitting there. happens to all piercing. follow what they told you to do and if you are still concerned go to the place you got it and show them. they can give you more guidance. I've always used dial soap and warm water for my tattoos and piercings.
