What are your thoughts? Has anyone already banked? 1st pregnancy and really interested in it. Thanks!!

we plan on donating. I work as a bmt nurse so I want to make sure it can help someone in need.  banking seems like a pretty big sum of money for a "what if" situation.  I'd rather save that money for college or other things later in life.

I'd gladly donate it, but I'm a government employee and can't afford the banking fees unfortunately.
